St. Perpetua Faith Formation - Youth Ministry

9th - 12th Grade

To Know Christ Better To Make Christ Better Known

To Be the Best Version of Yourself

August 15, 2017

Hello and Welcome Teens

     and Parents of Teens!

Come take a look at  St. Perpetua's Youth Ministry (something in the Church just for high school students).  In Youth Ministry at St. Perpetua we foster the spiritual growth of teens in the sacramental life of the Church, promote participation in the life of our parish, and encourage teens to serve others in need. How? Look below for details.

Teens join with your peers in our community to continue to explore faith and what it means to be a Catholic teen in today’s world – from a teen’s viewpoint and outside of a formal church setting! We hope you will become part of, or continue with, Youth Ministry in our parish.  Teens are an important and integral part of our parish community and in Youth Ministry teens see how they fit into the bigger part of the life of the Church.  In our ministry we affirm the gifts of our teens and help foster opportunities for them to share their gifts with the St. Perpetua parish and the larger community around us.  Through a variety of programs, events and outreach, we draw our teens into responsible participation in the life, work, and mission of the parish community.  Our goal is the continued forming of a young Christian community within the parish whereby teens can grow in their love of God and neighbor.

St. Perpetua’s High School Youth Ministry is open to all students in the 9th-12th grades.  Teens have many opportunities at St. Perpetua for learning and experiencing to see how their faith can help them navigate the challenges of being a teen in today’s world.   To be part of youth ministry we ask teens to register so we know you and your family.  Teens who want to check us out first are more than welcome to do so.  We meet weekly in different ways from early September through mid-May.  There are five components of our parish youth ministry (look to the left for the calendar and details of each):

1.  Weekly Youth Group Gatherings

On the left side bar, check out “Youth Group” for the calendar and further details.

We meet on different days - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays - during the school year.

Here teens take a modern look at our faith at work today (Sacraments, Scripture, the Paschal Mystery; Person of Christ, the Church, Morality, Community, and Prayer).

3.   Sacrament of Confirmation Preparation

On the left side bar, check out “Confirmation” for the calendar and further details.

Select Sundays from 4:30 to 6:00pm, or 6:30 to 8:00pm, and select designated days.

For teens that are at least a sophomore in high school, come find ways to discover Christ in the world today and how to be the version of yourself.

4.   Teen / Family Youth Masses and other Liturgical Celebrations

On the left side bar, check out “Liturgies” for the calendar and further details.

On select Sundays at the 11:30am mass teens share their gifts by serving in one of the various liturgy roles.  Confirmation Candidates make this the mass of their choice for the week.

5.   Service

On the left side bar, check out “Service Opportunities” for the calendar/further details.

Service Opportunities occur on various days at St. Perpetua, and in the general community.

Teens come check us out and hopefully you will come to a better understanding of where you are on your faith journey.  Through Youth Ministry at St. Perpetua you will come to know Christ better, and figure out how, using your own gifts, to make Christ better known in the world today, and to make the world a better place.

What Do You Need To Do To Be a Part of Youth Ministry This Year?

Go to “Registration” on side bar to the left of this page.

Complete the forms and send them in by mail, or drop them off in the parish office and watch the parish weekly bulletin and your email for updates.  Registration is now open for Youth Group and Confirmation. Once a teen has registered, the teen will be able to participate in youth group, confirmation preparation, and our service opportunities also starts the weekly email for you called Teens@St.Perpetua to keep you up on what is happening for teens in the parish.
